In light of Singapore's upcoming National Day, we hosted an event with Lions Befrienders to celebrate the nation's birthday and Camel Nuts' 50th anniversary. The event brought together 20 delightful seniors for an afternoon filled with laughter, shared memories, and a nostalgic journey.
Fostering Connections
The day began with engaging icebreakers and Q&A sessions that fostered a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Surprisingly, many seniors expressed fondness for Camel Nuts, sharing cherished memories of the snack. To enhance the festive spirit, we distributed Singapore-themed tattoo stickers, which the seniors enjoyed wearing.
A Touch of Competition
To ignite friendly competition, we introduced a rousing game of ring toss, creating laughter and camaraderie. The game served as a fantastic icebreaker, fostering connections among participants.
Rekindling Memories with Kachang Puteh
The event's highlight was undoubtedly the kachang puteh corner. As seniors skillfully folded these iconic treats, they shared nostalgic stories and even demonstrated traditional folding techniques. The excitement grew as they personalized their kachang puteh with a unique blend of nuts and crackers.
A Nostalgic Finale and Heartfelt Appreciation
To conclude the event on a nostalgic note, we gathered together for a heartfelt sing-along of classic Singaporean tunes. The familiar melodies brought smiles and a sense of unity among the seniors.
As a token of appreciation, we presented each senior with a Camel Nuts door gift filled with their favorite snacks. Their joy as they received these treats was a heartwarming end to a day filled with nostalgia and connection.
